01/11/2016: Running Along the Belmont Slough

“Mud doesn’t sell” was the mantra of the professional photographer teaching a basic class to local camera enthusiasts.  He proceeded to show an array of amazing bird photos and consistently the ones with a background of mud were less appealing to the ones with a bright green background of vegetation or those framed by blue sky.

But sometimes mud is all you get.  While in class for three days, the Belmont Slough was my only opportunity to experience a little nature.  So, for three days I ran along the slough as it wound its way around the office buildings of the high tech industry.  I would have liked to have run when the tide was high but, then again, two of the days, I was running in the dark.  Sometimes mud is all you get.IMG_4350

  1. Mud works when the sun is rising along it! And mud works when it makes you happy which it sounds like it did.
