Salmon Creek is the old standby hike. Everyone stops a 1/4 mile in at the falls so the trail is usually empty. Unfortunately, I can never get a picture that captures the place. Its a long, narrow canyon with extremely steep slopes and unbelievable ocean views. The photos never capture the size, steepness, or sense of awe overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
We were surprised by the post Labor Day traffic and the road construction. Can you imagine working on a crane hanging over a 500′ cliff? It’s not as bad as the spider cranes that climb the cliff but impressive to see such large machinery in such a small area.
